Ottawa Valley All Terrain Vehicle Club Newsletter February 2004 We finally have some snow for the snowmobilers among us and already its time to start thinking about the 2004 ATVing season. About two more months and we should be able to hit the mud ! 2004 Executive In case you missed the election results here is your 2004 club executive: Mike Pastor - President Dave Murphy - Vice President Dan Murphy - Treasurer and Membership Coordinator Rich Heslip - Secretary Steve Knoble - Trails Master We had some of our directors retire so our new simplified structure is the executives are also the club directors - we need a minimum of three directors and two executives in order to meet the incorporation requirements in Ontario. If the membership wants more of a voice in how the club is run there is certainly room for more directors - but we have not exactly been overrun by volunteers so far. 2004 Membership Fees We have managed to hold the membership dues at $120, with a $20 discount if you get your registration in by the March 17 general meeting. Here is how it breaks down: $35 - North Frontenac Township ATV pass $25 - OVATVC working funds - trail maintenance, events $60 - insurance We will be joining the Eastern Ontario Trail Alliance again this year so we can share our insurance costs with other clubs - otherwise we could not afford it. OnTrail, which is trying to organize a province wide ATV trail system does not look like it will be in place for the 2004 season. OVATVC Apparel You will be able to purchase very cool club apparel at our club meetings on February 18th and March 17th so bring your cash or cheque books. The items with prices are as follows:

Hugh Walford has agreed to carry on as webmaster for our club's web site. Hugh did a great job on this last year in addition to holding down the Treasurer's position. This is the place to go to find out the latest news. Hugh has added a bulletin board feature (click the button near the top of the home page) which should be very useful for discussing ideas and coordinating the weekend runs. Thanks Hugh !
2004 Schedule Last season's run schedule seemed to strike a good balance - a couple of "big" events open to the public and lots of informal trail rides for the membership. We are trying to coordinate our schedule with some of the other clubs in Eastern Ontario this year so hopefully there will be more guest riders at our public rides and we can attend some of their events too.
