Ottawa Valley All Terrain Vehicle Club Newsletter

February 2006

Welcome back everyone to a new year of exciting ATV riding.  We hope everyone had a good holiday.  We have an ambitions schedule planned for this year that should make it enjoyable for all members.

The annual Christmas party was held Dec 9 at the 7 West Motel in Carleton Place. A group of 29 including members, spouses, family and friends got together to socialize and enjoy a great meal. This was our best attended Christmas party to date! It was a fitting end to a year with many highlights including our largest and most successful charity run, 50% membership growth to the most members ever, the most sponsors we've had, and the first TV coverage of an OVATVC event.

Website Message Forum

We will be transitioning to a new discussion forum over the next two weeks or so. The reasons:

1. Get rid of annoying popup ads
2. We have the option of NO ads for a few dollars a month with the new BBS
3. Much more functional BBS - multiple forums, private mail, photo posting etc.
4.
Security and control. Guests can read messages but you MUST register to post a message. If somebody is behaving badly they will be warned, and if unacceptable behaviour continues they WILL be banned from posting.

What I propose is that users start signing up (you will have to supply a valid email address) and check out the new forums. Feel free to start posting messages there and make suggestions. If you have posted something on the old forum you feel is important you can post it on the new BBS as well (use copy/paste). Please start putting new posts on the new BBS.

The new OVATVC forum is at http://s15.invisionfree.com/OVATVC

The new BBS is pretty straightforward, but if you need detailed instructions there are help links at http://invisionfree.com

Once everything appears to be working smoothly I will change the link on our homepage and declare the old forum closed.
