CHARITY RUN FOR CAMP TRILLIUM - AUGUST 21st

Our annual Charity Run supporting Camp Trillium takes place on Saturday August 21st. Camp Trillium provides recreational programs to children living with cancer and their families in both camp and hospital settings year round. Please support this great cause by collecting pledges and participating in this run.

Pledge forms and posters will be handed out at the club meeting on May 19th or contact Michael Pastor at 839-1692 or Rich Heslip at 489-2274.

TWIN OAKS Undergoing Renovations

Twin Oaks Motel where we have our club meetings has been sold and is currently undergoing major renovations. It will be ready for ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING on Wednesday October 20th. At this meeting we will rap up the annual club events and elect a new executive.

If you are interested in running for any of the positions on the club executive this meeting will be your opportunity.

EASTERN ONTARIO TRAIL ALLIANCE PRESENTATION POSPONED

Due to Twin Oaks not being available for our May 19th meeting, the presentation by Cindy of the EOTA on what that organization’s goals are and how they are enhancing ATVing opportunities in Ontario will be rescheduled to a future date TBA.

BILL 11 Efforts with Lanark and North Frontenac

I have met with representative of all the municipalities within LANARK COUNTY as well as the Director of Roads and the OPP regarding getting ATV access to roads within the county. We are at the point where the club needs to identify which roads within the county we want access to. I NEED THE HELP OF THE CLUB MEMBERS!!! What roads do we want access to? I need to quickly hold a meeting with a group of from 3 to 8 club members from Lanark County who are knowledgeable about which roads we feel we should ride. Using your input I will work with the committee from Lanark to put a proposal for Council together. WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS BUT I NEED YOUR INPUT OR THE PROCESS WILL GRIND TO A HALT!

As far as North Frontenac is concerned, no progress can be reported. They are sitting back and seeing what other townships are doing. I continue to feed them information whenever another area passes laws enabling ATV’s to legally use the roads. I will keep working on them.

Financials

We are still operating in the black but just barely. Unexpected costs include our Executive Insurance jumping from $250 to over $400 despite having no claims. Also, the club absorbed the additional $5 per member when the North Fronenac Pass went from $35 to $40 per person.

Spring Fling Update

There were well over 30 bikes on the run in April. Judging from the comments after the run this was a good success. Your feedback is requested.
